Nepal Army helicopter airlifted 58 people, displaced by floods in Bhotekoshi River, from Tatopani area, near the Nepal-China border, on Friday afternoon, the Chief District Officer of Sindhuplachok, Gokarna Mani Duwadi, said. “Firstly they were taken to Barhabise,” Duwadi told THT Online from the district headquarters Chautara, “Then, 13 of them went to their relatives’ houses in nearby safe locations whereas 44 were sent to their kin in Kathmandu.”The District Administration Office had managed a bus to ferry them to Kathmandu, according to Duwadi. The chopper airlifted a security agency member, who received some injuries during the floods, to Kathmandu for further treatment.Meanwhile, the CDO informed that five more houses and a suspension bridge were swept away by the flood on Friday. “With this, the number of houses swept away by the floods in Bhotekoshi this week reached 25,” he added.Torrential rainfall in Tibet on Tuesday night had caused an abrupt flood in the Bhotekoshi River downstream on the Nepali side.
