Two pilots of Makalu Air were seriously injured when the plane they were flying met with an accident at Rauterana of Simikot VDC today. Captain Sange Lama and co-pilot Prashant Shah were seriously injured as the plane heading for Surkhet crashed at around 3:30 in the afternoon, falling on the banks of the Karnali river. Both Lama and Shah were airlifted by a helicopter to the Simikot hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The crashed aircraft is reported to have been washed away by the river.
